The biggest of Yellowstone’s cliffhangers has already been resolved. (Is it ending? Sadly, yes, we learned back in May.) But that still leaves as many questions to be answered as there are bodies at the train station.
Since the Paramount Network hit, which is slated to return in November with the back half of Season 5, is being followed a month later by a spinoff, possibly starring Matthew McConaughey, there is a chance that the mothership will leave some threads dangling at the conclusion of its run — you know, to jump-start the franchise’s latest offshoot. In our dream scenario, however, co-creator Taylor Sheridan & Co. give closure to their main characters — yes, even if a bunch of them are just going to cross over to the new show, which 101 Studios CEO David Glasser has disclosed is “picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale.”
Considering that the midseason finale wrapped with Jamie and Sarah plotting John and Beth’s murders, and John and Beth contemplating offing Jamie — read the full recap here — nobody’s story is likely to wrap with a group hug. “I can’t imagine it ending like that,” Wes Bentley (Jamie) told TVLine shortly after New Year. “It’s sort of like that quote George [R.R.] Martin gave about Game of Thrones: ‘If you think this has a happy ending, you’re not paying attention.’”

The smart money is on John, especially in the wake of reported scheduling conflicts with Kevin Costner. And the embattled rancher has already survived colon cancer, a shooting and a family dinner with girlfriend Summer and daughter Beth. His number should probably have been up a long time ago.
Are John and Summer Endgame?

One of the newly minted governor’s first acts in office was to get Summer sprung from prison. So are we to believe that they are in love… or just having a really good time playing house? Either way, is it over-over between John and Lynelle? ’Cause we always had the feeling that they could be darned happy together if they could only get the stars to align.
Do Beth and Rip Adopt Carter?

Viewers were up in arms when Beth refused to let orphaned Carter call her mama. (Here’s Kelly Reilly’s account of the story.) But we’ve seen how big a soft spot she has for him. Even her husband Rip has come to grudgingly kinda like the kid. So will the combustible trio make their arrangement official by at least acknowledging aloud that they are a family?
Will Kayce’s Premonition Come True?

After taking part in a Native-American vision quest in Season 4, Kayce revealed to Monica that he’d seen “the end of us.” Later, he vowed never to make a decision that would bring that dire fate to fruition. But can he keep that promise? Or was his vow to his wife more along the lines of wishful thinking?
Is Rip Headed for Prison?
Beth was shocked — and rightly frightened — to learn from Jamie that the train station is actually the burial ground for all of her father and husband’s secrets. Will her treacherous brother stick it to her by ratting out Rip… or will Jamie keep his lips zipped, lest his own crimes come to light?
Does Beth Make Good on Her Threat?

Since Jamie took away her shot at ever bearing a child, Beth was livid when she discovered that he had a son. “Next time you see him, you can kiss him goodbye,” she hissed, “because he is as good as gone.” Was that an idle threat, or will she actually go so far as to have Jamie Jr. abducted?
Does Caroline Ever Get Revenge?

The former Yellowstone ranch hand has been engaged to his girlfriend since Season 4. We’d love to know that they actually tie the knot — if only to ensure that he’s never troubled again by his ex, Mia. (No, we haven’t forgiven her for pushing him to get back on the bronco after he nearly wound up paralyzed for life.)
Does Tate Get a Sibling?

Kayce and Monica’s son seemed to be as crushed as they were when Mom lost the baby she was carrying following the rare accident involving both a pickup truck and a buffalo. The marrieds have said that they are going to try again. Will they be successful, thereby allowing the series’ ending to serve as their new beginning?
Which Couples Get Happy Endings?

What Happened to Lug-Nut Boy?

In Season 3’s climactic finale, John was helping a mother and her young son fix their flat when Garrett’s hired guns opened fire. John and Mom were both hit, but what about the kid? John had sent him to look for lug nuts in the weeds. Did he survive? Did he not? And where is he now? Above all, this we need to know!
