Belgian National Day is the national holiday of Belgium commemorated annually on 21 July.
It is one of the country’s ten public holidays and marks the anniversary of the investiture of Leopold I as the first King of the Belgians in 1831.
Princess Eleonore of Belgium, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium attended the Te Deum mass held in the Cathedral in Brussels, and this is the one time where I will say that I wish Princess Eleonore had worn black.
Why?
It would’ve been a cute way to fully represent the national flag of Belgium with its tricolour of black, yellow and red.
Instead, Princess Eleonore wore a Maje Ruffino metallic tiered-hem woven midi dress styled with nude shoes.
If you know much about Queen Mathilde’s style, you will know that her go-to designer is Natan.
The Belgium designer created this sophisticated red dress which features a side draping detail which added a touch of modernity.
I love how the accessories elevated the look, even though I’m majorly surprised that the Queen is wearing heels with PVC inserts.
Princess Elisabeth also stood out wearing a Natan limoncello coloured scuba dress.
Typically, scuba dresses are thought of as sporty and cool, but Natan proves that doesn’t mean your look can’t be girly.
The appeal of this dress aside from the colour is the structure.
When it comes to the styling, I like the hat and the matching clutch and gloves, but not the colour of the shoes.
Not for this dress, and not with the rest of her accessories.
