Padma Lakshmi was spotted arriving at a studio in New York City on Tuesday (August 15), where she was promoting her TV series, ‘Taste the Nation,’ on ‘Good Morning America.’
The show, which is in its third season, sees the cookbook author take audiences on a journey across America, exploring the rich and diverse food culture of various immigrant groups, seeking out the people who have so heavily shaped what American food is today.
As beautiful as the host looks in this Temperley London Clove velvet jacket, waistcoat and high-waisted trousers from the Fall 2022 collection, I couldn’t imagine wearing a velvet suit right now, let alone a three-piece velvet suit on a summer’s day in New York, even if it had just rained.
The humidity alone would be too much to bear.
I think I could’ve been more on board with this look without the jacket, but then I get to the styling of the tan shoes with the Barbiecore bubblegum pink suit, and realise that the heat factor is one part of me struggling to get on board with this look.
But I have a high body temperature, so perhaps Padma doesn’t share this.
Swing this back around come October, November, without those shoes, and I’ll be more onboard with this look.
