ACTIVELAB Luxury Outerwear, the force behind high-end “Made in Italy”, launches its first collection B A | L M for FW21/22 in collaboration with Italian designer Filippo Scuffi. Siblings Alessia and Cristiano Fanfani, the owners of ACTIVELAB, spoke to us about their plans, today’s challenges and their endless quest for expression through refined luxury.

“With almost forty years of expertise under its belt, the company is an authority in the creation of high-end leather and fur collections. The outstanding quality of its products has given it that added “Made in Italy” value, gaining the international recognition of Ηaute Couture Maisons”.
Our father, Sergio, instilled in us this love of haute couture. He generously offered us his knowledge and experience, and strongly influenced our choices and our decision to take over the company and continue what he had started” says Alessia, with Cristiano adding that: “what is most striking at ACTIVELAB is our team spirit and strong desire to grow every day. We place emphasis on modern aesthetics and the use of innovative materials, and pay close attention to detail during the production process. Having achieved the vertical integration of our production by 80%, we take full advantage of our high level of know-how in the creation of all kinds of fur products with the aim of pleasing even the most demanding of clients”.
Production is carried out by three departments which interact in order to ensure the best possible quality of the end product, regardless of production quantity:
• The R&D Department keeps abreast of trends, assesses market developments, creates strategies and develops new services and products.
• The Production Department is armed with state-of-the-art mechanical equipment and qualified personnel, thus giving the production plant the flexibility it needs to operate as smoothly and effectively as possible. The department applies the highest standards of production, and its team of experts is there to ensure that these standards are complied with at every stage of production, while also conducting strict quality controls before each delivery.
• The Sales Department is made up of a broad network of associates and operates in the European, US and Asian Markets.

Alessia, how did you come up with BA|LM?
“At a time when life on the planet simply ‘stopped’, we found that we needed to react, and so we decided to work with Filippo Scuffi. We took advantage of all our tools to breathe life into a timeless collection, BA|LM DONNA & BA|LM UOMO, a true pleasure for the senses” says Alessia, clearly unable to conceal her excitement. High Street Hits with an underlying innocence and a sophisticated charm. Diverse and light textures with shiny metal decorative elements and belts that effortlessly take the look to a whole new level of elegance and practicality. Light coats with waterproof coating coexisting harmoniously with longhair silver fox fur on their oversized cuffs and pockets. Black on black with contrasting textures; textures that balance beautifully between matte and shiny, hard and soft. Innovative techniques have given us the freedom to break all traditional rules and, ecco, the result is a new aesthetic. No doubt, fur allows us to dare with confidence”.
