Alicia Keys personally invited Ralph Yarl to an upcoming concert date, according to TMZ.
An attorney for Yarl’s family, Lee Merritt, told the outlet that the singer has asked Ralph to come out to the show in Kansas and meet her at a concert scheduled this July.

As previously reported, 84-year-old Andrew Lester shot Ralph on April 13 after the 16-year-old accidentally rang the wrong doorbell.

Like Alicia, Roc Nation has also reportedly contacted Ralph and his family. They’ve allegedly offered to help however they can amid Ralph’s recovery.

Meanwhile, Ralph’s family has since set up a trust fund for him after donations started pouring in, with the teen’s GoFundMe having already passed a whopping $3.4 million.

Ralph’s Mother Receives Tearful Support From Ahmaud Arbery’s Mom, Shooter Charged
TMZ also reports that Ralph’s mother, Cleo, received tearful support from Wanda Cooper-Jones. Wanda is the mother of Ahmaud Arbery–a 25-year-old Black man who was murdered during a racially motivated hate crime while jogging in Glynn County, Georgia, in Feb. 2020.

Cooper-Jones allegedly told Cleo to lean on prayer at this time and told her the victims, like their two sons, hold the power. Lester has since been charged with assault after shooting the teen two times. Lester pleaded not guilty on April 19.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump went on to tell TMZ that he doesn’t believe the charges fit the crime. Officials charged Lester with assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.

Case To Be Continued On June 1, Lester To Remain Out On Bond
Zachary Thompson, a Clay County prosecuting attorney, has since shared a statement with KCTV 5 about the case.
“From this point forward, the State will be pushing to move this case forward as swiftly as legally permitted. While charges have been filed, this remains an active investigation. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to gather any and all evidence available in this case. If anyone in the community has information that would assist in this case, we ask that you please contact the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department or other law enforcement. Now that this is an active and pending case, our office is severely limited in the information we can publicly disclose. This is due to our desire to protect the legal integrity of the case and ensure that justice is served for the victim and our community. Despite these restrictions, we will be as transparent as legally permitted and strive to keep the public informed of any developments.”
The case will be continued on June 1. Lester will remain out on bond. He is “barred from owning a weapon or having contact with Yarl,” KCUR 89.3 NPR reports.
