Micromanaging is, sadly, what most managers consider managing. And, though “micro” in practice, sometimes it costs companies big.
A recent thread was posted in Reddit’s r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit, telling the tale of how one supervisor’s meddling with a bulk mail stamp on a catalog, cost the company over $200k.
Now, for those of you born after 1990, “catalogs” were basically internet stores, but instead of being on the internet, they came in 500-page volumes to your house, killing hundreds of trees along the way.
