Prison breakdown?
As “Chrisley Knows Best” stars Julie Chrisley and Todd Chrisley continue to serve years-long fraud sentences, Julie has reportedly come to regret the $30 million scheme she feels her husband pushed her to be involved in. Now serving seven years behind bars at FCM Lexington in Kentucky, Julie, 50, “has broken down,” a source close to her tells the Daily Mail. “She is not doing well at all. She cannot fathom how she will spend years being locked up and feels that she let her family down,” the insider explains. “Todd assured her that they would not go to jail and now Julie regrets what she did in the name of fame. She is losing faith that they will get this overturned and she is so sad.” Todd, 54, is serving 12 years in prison for his own role in the fraud and tax evasion case whose verdict the two are hoping to appeal.
Due to the length of their sentences, their 25-year-old daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has taken on childcare and custody duties for niece, Chloe, and brother, Grayson and is struggling herself. “I’m in that anger part of grief right now. I’m just angry at everything,” she said on the latest edition of her “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast. “And also, after taking on the kids. I’m like, ‘OK. Do I actually want kids? Do I? You know, seeing how much this whole thing has affected us?'” she added.

More ‘Yellowstone’ drama
There’s reportedly more drama afoot behind the scenes on “Yellowstone.” Puck News reports that tensions have worsened between Kevin Costner and the hit Paramount show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, and other producers and network execs, adding to an already messy situation in which the much-anticipated final episodes have yet to be filmed. According to Puck, Kevin now refuses to commit to return to set until he’s granted approval on how his character’s story will end. The leading man reportedly wants to be “comfortable with how his John Dutton character is written out of the franchise” and “wants to prevent what Shonda Rhimes did to Patrick Dempsey, killing off the race car-driving ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star in a … car accident.” Puck adds Kevin is trying to prevent “Yellowstone” creator Taylor from getting back at Kevin for their alleged feuding by killing off John Dutton “via a kick from an angry horse” or, presumably, suffering a similarly embarrassing death.
Sources “close to the production” also tell the outlet that Kevin’s increasingly frayed relationships with Taylor and other higher-ups on the show were behind the decision not to alert Kevin in advance about the recent public announcement that the show will end after season 5.
Coronation Concert critique
Lionel Richie’s performance at King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Coronation Concert on Sunday (May 7), left some fans “disappointed” and others confused by the sound of his iconic voice. But if the singer noticed something was off, he made no mention of it when he shared video from his short set on Instagram after the show. “Live between #AmericanIdol and Windsor Castle today for the Coronation Concert ✨,” Lionel captioned a clip from the concert, which saw him perform the Commodores hit “Easy” and his 1983 solo single, “All Night Long” before his “American Idol” co-star Katy Perry took the stage.
“Is someone disguised as Lionel Richie because that is not his voice! Sounds completely different,” wrote one Twitter user referencing the show. Another fan said he sounded “like he’s been possessed by Elton John,” while a third wrote that they were “disappointed,” having “seen him a few times” in the past and apparently heard something different. While some fans praised his performance and voice, yet another social media user compared Lionel to “some karaoke performer.” Lionel, 73, has spoken publicly about undergoing four throat surgeries in four years after struggling with throat and voice issues in the ’90s.
Charles and Camilla, meanwhile, seemed to have been happy with the show when they made a surprise appearance in a scene filmed in a room at Windsor Castle that aired this week’s “American Idol.” Though he teased Lionel by asking if he planned to use the room at Windsor “all night long,” the king also called Lionel and Katy “brilliant performers,” adding, “Katy was wonderful.”

Hollywood behaving badly
Tom Hanks isn’t too worried about critics’ opinions about his debut novel, “The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece.” That’s thanks to his “day job as a movie star,” which taught him how to “handle” criticism, he told the BBC in a May 2023 interview. The two-time Oscar winner also admits he drew on real-life experiences — including his fellow stars’ bad behavior — to write the book’s characters, including the “cry-babies, psychological train wrecks, on-the-wagon alcoholics [and] off-the-wagon addicts” who appear in his story about “the making of a colossal, star-studded, multimillion-dollar superhero action film, and the humble comic book that inspired it all,” according to the synopsis.
“I have pulled every single one of those moments of behavior myself on a set,” says Tom, 6. “Not everybody is at their best every single day on a motion picture set. I’ve had tough days trying to be a professional when my life has been falling apart in more ways than one and the requirement for me that day is to be funny, charming and loving, and it’s the last way I feel,” he continues. Tom says he’s never messed with “the timing or the length of the shoot or the budget” of film because “that is a cardinal sin” in the industry, but plenty of his fellow stars do. “You will be amazed at how many people know that they can get away with it, and are told they can get away with it, because they are carrying the movie on their shoulders,” he says. The author won’t reveal who else inspired the antics in his book, though. “Hanks just laughs when asked to name names,” the BBC notes.

Secret romance?
Dianna Agron is finally weighing in on a decade-old rumor that she dated Taylor Swift way back when and even inspired a song by the star. The buzz, circa 2012 – 2014, began after Taylor mentioned Dianna was among her “inspirations” in her liner notes to “22” and shared a handful of photos of the two spending time together on social media. She also name-checked Dianna (and some other famous friends) while she was being honored at the 2014 American Music Awards. Now 37, Dianna was asked about the romance rumors in a Rolling Stone interview published over the weekend .
“Me? Oh, if only!” she told the outlet of rumors she inspired music by Taylor. “That’s more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!” Asked point-blank if there’s any truth to chatter about a romantic relationship with Taylor, 33, Dianna replied, “That is so interesting. … I mean, there have been many stories about my dating life that are so wildly untrue. That’s funny.” Taylor was recently linked to The 1975’s Matty Healy.
‘Avenger’ No. 1
Jeremy Renner is a real-life superhero, as far as his friend and “Avengers” co-star Scarlett Johansson is concerned. In a new cover story for Variety, the actress opens up how she and her fellow “Avengers” — Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo — responded to news of Jeremy’s near-death snowplow accident on Jan. 1. The incident left Jeremy with more than 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung and a punctured liver, but he’s been recovering steadily, a fact that’s impressed his Marvel co-stars, who’ve determined he’s now officially Avenger No. 1.
Recalling her first visit with Jeremy, alongside Chris Evans, Scarlett admitted she “didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again” at that point. “To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally. He’s a very spiritual person in general and a very soulful person. And you can see that in his work. It comes through. He has such a depth to him. And I just was so happy to see that he is full of life and light, and he’s also hilarious. We laughed a lot,” she continued. Though she was “very upset,” she said it wasn’t long before the whole “Avengers” crew was able to resume cracking jokes. “On the ‘Avengers’ text chain, we’re like, ‘OK, you beat us all. That’s it. You won,'” she said. “That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable.”
Trump verdict
On Tuesday (May 9), a jury found former President Donald Trump liable of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in a New York City department store in 1996, and awarded Carroll $5 million in damages. Trump was also found liable for battery and defamation, though not for rape, the most serious of the allegations in the high-profile lawsuit. Trump, who denied the allegations he faced, quickly slammed the verdict as a “hoax” on Truth Social, calling it a “continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time.”
Other stars also reacted to the verdict on social media, where Jamie Lee Curtis referenced Trump’s previous claim Carroll was “not [his] type,” posting, “His ‘TYPE’ just got served a big plate of consequences! Proud of @ejeancarroll @LisaBirnbach.” Bill O’Reilly issued a news alert about the verdict, telling followers Trump will appeal.
“The Republican front runner for PRESIDENT has to pay @ejeancarroll FIVE MILLION dollars because he sexually abused her and called her a liar publicly when she spoke about his crime,” Yvette Nicole Brown posted. He also incited a deadly insurrection but I’m sticking to the crime he’s liable for TODAY.” Click on to see what other stars are saying about the verdict.
