Money matters

Rod Stewart’s son Sean Stewart has already “cashed out” his inheritance to support his floundering clothing line, Dirty Weekend, a new report claims. On May 9, Page Six reported that Sean, 42, has “blown through his inheritance early.” How much money Sean was given by his father isn’t known, but the “Maggie May” rocker is estimated to be worth about $300 million. “It’s insane because this is the third time I think he’s relaunching Dirty Weekend,” an insider said. “Maybe third time’s the charm.”

Splitsville

Back in 2017, Bravo star Kim Zolciak-Biermann adamantly said divorce was “not an option” as she discussed the multitude of “Real Housewives” stars who’ve ended their marriages. Well, that’s no longer how she feels. On May 8, TMZ reported that the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum filed for divorce from her retired NFL player husband, Kroy Biermann, because their marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” She listed April 30 as their date of separation and asked the court for spousal support and sole physical custody with visitation for Kroy. In Kroy’s divorce petition, he asked for sole legal and physical custody as well as possession of their Alpharetta, Georgia, home and for Kim to vacate the property. He also wants her to maintain all financial documents including income records, tax records, expense records and more.

The split comes after a report claimed the duo owes more than $1 million in unpaid taxes. The debt has been building up for a decade. According to TMZ, the former couple owes $1.1 million to the IRS for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018. They also owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes for 2018. Both reports come several months after Kim and Kroy’s home went into foreclosure and was set to be auctioned off.

Family LGBTQ+ news

Oscar- and Tony-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden is a mother of three with ex-husband Thaddaeus Scheel. In May 2023, she shared that all three of her kids identify as queer. She opened up about her children during the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous: A Digital Fundraiser” live telethon, explaining, “What drives me is because it’s right, and what’s happening right now is wrong. What drives me is — my children are all queer. My eldest child is non-binary. My son is gay. My youngest is fluid. And you know, they are my kids, and they teach me every day.”

Health update

Jamie Foxx’s health has been shrouded in mystery since his hospitalization last month following a medical emergency, and there have been conflicting reports regarding his condition in the weeks that followed. On May 12, the Oscar winner’s daughter Corinne Foxx shared a major update about Jamie’s condition, claiming her dad is active and doing well. “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!” She further added, “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!” Corinne’s post came days after an unverified report claimed Jamie’s family was “hoping for the best” but “preparing for the worst.”

Jamie’s health has been a tightly-guarded secret since he fell ill in Atlanta on April 11. Since then, he and his family have provided scant information. On May 3, TMZ wrote that people close to the Oscar winner were saying he “needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster.” Sources close to Jamie made the same plea, telling the webloid, “Pray for Jamie.” That same day, Jamie seemingly took to Instagram to say he was “feeling blessed.” But then, only adding to the confusion, several media outlets reported that Jamie’s condition was still unchanged, despite his social media update.

Cancer fight

Dolph Lundgren has been quietly battling cancer since 2015, he revealed in early May. The “Rocky” star said on the “In Depth With Graham Bensinger” series that doctors found a cancerous tumor in his kidney in 2015. The cancer soon went into remission but came back in 2020. Things turned serious enough that a doctor gave him a terminal diagnosis, telling the actor he only had a couple years to live. With tumors in his lungs, stomach, spine and kidneys, Dolph felt his days were numbered — some of the tumors were so large that surgery wasn’t an option. “I thought it was it, for sure,” he said. After speaking to another doctor for a second opinion, Dolph was put on a new medication and his tumors began shrinking quickly, some upwards of 90%. He now plans to have them removed.

Stunning verdict

Hollywood speaks! On May 9, a jury found Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in a New York City department store in 1996. The 45th president of the United States was also found liable for battery and defamation, but not for rape. In all, Trump’s accuser was awarded $5 million, a number he’s appealing. As this was a civil case, Trump was not required to appear in court, but he denied the allegations and opted not to testify.

Following the accusation, Trump did famously say that E. Jean was “not [his] type” and called the allegations a “hoax.” He did, however, sit for a deposition as part of the suit and mistook E. Jean for his ex-wife Marla Maples. He also called E. Jean a “whack job” and a “nut job” during the deposition. After the verdict was delivered, Trump called it a “disgrace” and claimed he didn’t know the woman (pictures show them together). Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted, “His ‘TYPE’ just got served a big plate of consequences!” Padma Lakshmi tweeted, “Sexual assault survivors are so rarely believed, validated, or given any semblance of justice. This is a win for us all.” One day after the verdict, CNN aired a highly-controversial town hall with Trump during which he continued to mock his accuser.

Disturbing claims

Country singer Jimmie Allen has been accused of sexually assaulting and harassing his former day-to-day manager over the course of 18 months between 2020 and 2022. The woman, using the name Jane Doe, filed a civil lawsuit on May 11 in Tennessee federal court for sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress. Wide Open Music, Jimmie’s former management company, and it’s founder, Ash Bowers, are also being sued. In the lawsuit and in a chat with Variety, the woman detailed several alleged assaults and groping incidents she said took place most often when she was traveling with the music star, who in April announced he was splitting from his wife, who’s pregnant with their third child.

The accuser further claimed she was fired from her job after complaining to Ash, who contends the firing was a job elimination because Jimmie was dropped as a client. Variety reported that it did multiple interviews and reviewed “hundreds” of text messages between the accuser, her friends and Jimmie to corroborate “parts of her story.”

Jimmie, for his part, has admitted that he had a sexual relationship with the woman but insisted it was consensual. He responded in a lengthy statement, writing in part, “It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever. I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time, she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely.”

Doggone winner

Tim McGraw keeps piling up wins — well, at least his dog is! On May 9, the three-time Grammy winner announced on Instagram that his Bracco Italiano dog Lepshi won “best of breed” at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The Associated Press reported that Tim’s 6-year-old pooch was eliminated in the semi-finals but made the judges’ “initial cuts in his group.” “So proud of Lepshi!! He’s always been a winner in our eyes!” Tim wrote alongside a photo of his top dog with a ribbon. “Lepshi won best of breed today for the Bracco Italiano, the first year for the breed at Westminster.”

Cause of death

Nearly a year after he passed away, more has come to light about Ray Liotta’s death. The “Goodfellas” star died from respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edema and acute heart failure, according to documents obtained by TMZ. In other words, Ray had heart and respiratory system issues, including fluid in his lungs. In May 2022, the 67-year-old actor was found dead in his hotel room in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the upcoming thriller “Dangerous Waters.” Documents noted that the death was natural and nonviolent. TMZ reported that Ray also suffered from atherosclerosis — a thickening of the arteries caused by a buildup of plaque in the inner lining — something that often leads to diabetes and other health issues.

Not kidding around

Robert De Niro is a father again at 79. On May 8, the Oscar winner confirmed that he’d recently welcomed his seventh child. While speaking with “ET Canada,” the interviewer said, “I know you have six kids.” Robert interrupted, “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.” The “Taxi Driver” actor has been dating martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen, who had a visible baby bump while out to dinner with the actor in March 2023. He later told “CBS This Morning” that they’d named their baby girl Gia Virgina Chen-De Niro and that she was born April 6. Gia was “planned,” he said, adding that he and Tiffany are “over the moon.”

Online show

He’s already back. Just weeks after being ousted from Fox News, Tucker Carlson is returning to the spotlight, but this time on Twitter. On May 9, the controversial TV personality announced that he’s starting a new show on the bird app. “Amazingly, as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech. The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter. Where we are now,” he said. “Starting soon we’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter. We’ll be bringing some other things too which we will tell you about, but for now we are just grateful to be here.”

Twitter boss Elon Musk applauded the move. “On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever he or anyone may say. And, of course, anything misleading will get @CommunityNotes,” Elon tweeted. “I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators. … I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform.” Elon, by the way, also made a plea to get Don Lemon a show on the app.
