It’s been 21 years since the first film in the “Harry Potter” franchise hit theaters and in that time, the boys from the movies — including stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Matthew Lewis and Tom Felton — have grown into men. In honor of Daniel’s 34th birthday on July 23, 2023, join us as we take a stroll down memory lane to see how our favorite child wizards from the movies have aged.

Daniel Radcliffe continues to find plenty of work in Hollywood and on stage. In addition to starring in several well-received Broadway and West End productions including “Equus,” “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and “The Cripple of Inishmaan,” he’s been in several films over the years including “The Woman in Black,” “Trainwreck,” “Now You See Me 2,” “Escape from Pretoria” and the TV movie “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend.” Since 2019, the actor who played The Boy Who Lived has been appearing on the small screen in “Miracle Workers.” In 2022, he played the villain opposite Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt in “The Lost City” and the titular parody genius in the 2022 Roku biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.” In 2023, Daniel and his partner of a more than a decade, actress Erin Darke, welcomed their first child, a son — who joined his father on the SAG-AFTRA strike picket line in July 2023.

Tom Felton is now in his mid-30s! He’s appeared in flicks such as “The Apparition,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and “Belle” and has made a few TV appearances too on shows including “Origin” and “The Flash.” The Brit, who’s also a singer-songwriter, has remained tight with Emma Watson (aka Hermione Granger) over the years. Though they’re just friends, she’s admitted that Tom was her first crush back when they were kids, and he too has admitted he had feelings for her — though not at the same time. Tom, who these days seems to favor more indie fare, has multiple movies on the way. In 2022, he bared his soul in the memoir “Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard” in which he chronicled his struggles with substance abuse.

Rupert Grint played Harry’s loyal best friend, Ron Weasley.

Wizard Ron Weasley is all grown up and still acting. Rupert Grint has taken on roles in a few films like “CBGB” as well as TV shows including “Snatch” and the BBC miniseries “The ABC Murders.” Since 2019, he’s portrayed Julian Pearce on the Apple TV+ horror series “Servant,” which premiered its fourth season in 2023. He’s also appeared on Broadway in “It’s Only a Play” alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. Rupert and longtime partner Georgia Groome welcomed their first child together, a daughter, in 2020.
