Hot button topic

KISS legend Paul Stanley believes that teaching children about gender reassignment and gender identity is a dangerous business. “There is a BIG difference between teaching acceptance and normalizing and even encouraging participation in a lifestyle that confuses young children into questioning their sexual identification as though some sort of game and then parents in some cases allow it,” he wrote in Instagram on Sunday, April 30. “There ARE individuals who as adults may decide reassignment is their needed choice but turning this into a game or parents normalizing it as some sort of natural alternative or believing that because a little boy likes to play dress up in his sister’s clothes or a girl in her brother’s, we should lead them steps further down a path that’s far from the innocence of what they are doing.” What prompted the KISS co-founder and guitarist to weigh in on the hot button issue isn’t known. He added, “With many children who have no real sense of sexuality or sexual experiences caught up in the ‘fun’ of using pronouns and saying what they identify as, some adults mistakenly confuse teaching acceptance with normalizing and encouraging a situation that has been a struggle for those truly affected and have turned it into a sad and dangerous fad.”

Staying mum about Jen

It’s been more than five years since Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux split, but he continues to keep her name out of his mouth… at least publicly. Although the former couple is still tight, Justin seems happy that his love life isn’t exactly up for public consumption anymore. “There’s something to, once you’re out of that, where I want all of my relationships to exist within the four walls of whatever room we’re in. And I’m not trying to be evasive, but I talk to Jen — I don’t talk about Jen,” he told Esquire. Jen and Justin were together for six years before splitting in late 2017. As Jen is a legitimate A-lister, their relationship was often spoken about on social media and within the mainstream media. “People will always want to gossip and say things, but you have to find that balance. And having been in a public relationship, it’s much more fun not being in a public relationship,” he said. “Me saying anything, even if it was something loving, it would just turn into a thing. So it’s a classic no-comment situation for me.”

Drag this

While Kelsea Ballerini’s drag queen-friendly CMT Music Awards performance was rather controversial on social media, few people actually logged a formal complaint with the powers that be. Very few people, actually. TMZ said the Federal Communications Commission received two complaints about the televised performance, which included four drag queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” One complaint came from Texas (where the show took place,) and the other from Alaska, wherein the show was called “filth.” Through it all, the country superstar stood by the performance and noted that network officials knew about the drag queen’s involvement well in advance. For comparison, the FCC received 103 complaints about Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Formerly friends

Selena Gomez’s organ donor, Francia Raisa, appears to have some real, deep issues the singer. The two women were once fiercely close, with Francia even donating her kidney to her pal after Selena’s failed due to her battle with lupus. But, after TMZ asked the “How I Met Your Father” star about the status of her relationship with Selena, Francia repeatedly dodged the topic and change the subject. Francia was asked if they were on speaking terms, but she answered by speaking about the weather. She was asked if she’d ever follow Selena back on social media, but she answered by speaking about trees. The only question Francia legitimately answered was whether she would donate again, Francia said, “I would definitely speak to someone about organ donation and the process and stuff because I’ve done it a few times.” Selena and Francia’s relationship seemed to sour after the “Only Murders In The Building” actress said in an interview that Taylor Swift was the only person in Hollywood that she was close to. Francia called the answer “interesting” and their relationship has spiraled downward since then. Despite Francia’s shade toward Selena, the “Wolves” singer has continued to thank her former friend. “I’ll never ever, ever, be more in debt to a person than Francia,” she said.

Legalese

Allison Holker has been granted half of her late husband’s estate. The “Dancing With The Stars” pro had previously filed legal documents to obtain the estate of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who died via suicide late last year. The filing was somewhat of a formality, as tWitch didn’t have a will. A Los Angeles judge granted Allison’s request after she proved that she was in fact married to Ellen DeGeneres’ sidekick at the time of his death. Allison was granted her “property passing” rights, Us Weekly reported. Allison — who shares daughters Weslie, 14, and Zaia, 3, and son Maddox, 7, with tWitch — said her late husband “owned nothing of value” when they tied the knot in 2013. She  claimed that all “existing assets were acquired during the marriage, by virtue of the work, skills and efforts of the parties” and that she and tWitch have “no written agreements between” them that would have “impacted the determination that the assets were community property.”

Putting life in perspective

Amid his 30-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Michael J. Fox is speaking about his mortality. “I’m not gonna be 80, he told “CBS Sunday Morning.” The “Back To The Future” actor believes that his illness will tell him when his time on earth is up. “Yeah, it’s, it’s banging on the door,” he said. “I’m not gonna lie. It’s gettin’ hard, it’s gettin’ harder. It’s gettin’ tougher. Every day it’s tougher.” The acting icon said “falling” is the  “big killer” when it comes to Parkinson’s which he was diagnosed with at age 29. “You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s,” MJF, 61, said. “So – so I’ve been – I’ve been thinking about the mortality of it.”
