I’ll admit, as someone who makes a living off his writing and design skills, artificial intelligence seems like it could be a threat. Rarely a day passes on popular apps without a tech evangelist boldly forecasting AI’s potential to disrupt millions of job roles. While these pundits are almost always wrong about the future, I have to admit AI can do some amazing things and who knows what that means for old-school blogs like Pleated-Jeans.
Indeed, the evolving trajectory of AI suggests that many industries are on the cusp of significant transformation. However, the enduring value of human-inspired creativity, juxtaposed with AI-driven design, warrants a discussion.
This discourse is exemplified by a recent Twitter post from AI shill, @itsPaulAi.
In a how-to thread, he demonstrated crafting a company logo via Bing Chat. Provocatively captioned ‘RIP graphic designers?’ and showcasing a couple of dubious AI-generated designs, the post incited a wave of satirical memes.
In a throwback to the bygone era of Microsoft Wordart, these memes humorously critique AI’s attempts at graphic design, reiterating the time-tested supremacy of human creativity. So, rest assured, design professionals – the bots aren’t taking over just yet.”
1. This is the origin of the meme. Doesn’t that look like clip art?
