I can just sense when people really need help. I guess I’m just special like that.

Select the numbers that apply to you.
- I hold doors open for people.
- When I spot a woman juggling two trays of coffees while attempting to kick open the door at Starbucks, I can’t help but hold the door open for her when she asks me to. I can just sense when people really need help. I guess I’m just special like that.
- I listen to my friends.
- I’m always there for my friends. Just recently, my friend called me with some horrible news: her favorite MAC lipstick was discontinued! I stayed on the phone for as long as she needed me to. So what if the line at my reception desk was starting to go out the door? We’re not the only cancer clinic in the city!
- I find graphic violence upsetting.
- I could NOT handle that movie The Human Centipede in IMAX 4DX. Seeing several human beings stitched together, mouth to anus, in high definition, and then feeling my seat rumble every time one of the humans would go poop was actually pretty gross to me.
- Intimate relationships are challenging at times.
- I struggle with intimate relationships because I always date these really smart, handsome, wealthy doctors who buy me flowers and make me dinner and treat me like their Queen and I just find it absolutely disgusting after a while. Like, hello? Where’s the passion?! The drama?!
- I know when something seems like a good or bad idea.
- I have a killer gut instinct. One time in New York, someone tried to sell me a Gucci knock-off bag in a dark alleyway. I could tell it was a knock-off because it said “Cucci” instead of Gucci. I haggled down to $400 and as I was getting my money out, the guy robbed me. I just had a strange feeling it was too good to be true.
- I usually know whether someone is being truthful or not.
- I can always tell when people are lying, like the time my ex took an entire half hour to text me back. He finally replied that he was in the middle of explaining treatment options to his newly diagnosed cancer patient, but I just knew he was cheating on me.
- I like nature.
- I love going to the beach. The sun shining on my shoulders, the waves softly beating against the shore, the hot bikini pics, it actually calms me for some reason! I hate being cooped up inside all day and having nothing to post on Instagram. I guess I’m just weird like that.
- I need some time to recharge after social events.
- After staying out until 4am with my friends, I am sooo tired the next day! I gather it together for bottomless mimosa brunch, but I really wish I could have some time to rest. As soon as I get home from brunch, I take a power nap before happy hour. I just love my weekly twenty minutes of “me” time!
- I don’t enjoy extremely crowded places.
- When I’m trying to get closer to the stage at Coachella and I keep pushing and elbowing people and stepping on their toes and yelling, “My little sister is up there, I need to find her!”, I actually get kind of irritated when people won’t let me pass by!
- Arguments and fights are stressful.
- When people are mad at me, I get really upset. One time my stepmom screamed at me: “IF YOU’RE GOING TO KEEP LIVING AT YOUR DADS WHILE SPENDING ALL YOUR MONEY ON POACHED EGGS AND MUSIC FESTIVALS, THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS CHANGE OUT THE TOILET PAPER ROLL!” It hurt my feelings. I guess I’m just sensitive like that.
SCORING:
Mostly evens: Neither.
Mostly odds: You’re a decent human being. And why are we so obsessed with creating binaries out of human characteristics, such as empathy, then basing our identities on them anyway? Wow, that was a deep thought. I must be an empath. I should take this quiz to be sure…
