For the first time since he suffered an unknown medical complication that left him hospitalized in April 2023, Jamie Foxx broke his silence. In an Instagram video, the Oscar winner thanked fans and friends for their prayers and positive messages. “I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” he said. “I went through something I thought I would never ever go through.” The actor was aware that fans wanted to hear from him as he and his family maintained their silence for months. “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he explained. “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.” Because of Jamie’s silence, unconfirmed speculation about his health grew for months. “I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well,” he said. “I just want to say that I love everybody, and I love all of the love that I got. It was tough, man, I was sick, but now I’ve got my legs under me, so you’re going to see me out… I’m on my way back.”
