This premiere will self-destruct in  10 . . .  nine . . .

Page Six hears it was a case of “Admission: Impossible” for a screening of Tom Cruise’s latest flick on Monday night — and that the organizers’ tough door policy ended up creating a headache for the organizers themselves.

Spies told us that  there was such a strict dress code at the New York premiere of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater  that they watched as a number of would-be guests were turned away for failing to dress up to the stiff sartorial standard.

And — while event insiders swear that the screening went off without a hitch —   we hear there was a scramble to fill empty seats inside the auditorium.

Our sources believe that  so many underdressed invitees were told to take a hike that there were empty seats noticeably scattered throughout the room.

But before the lights went down and credits rolled for the seventh installment of the Paramount franchise, workers found seat fillers to take the spots.

Allegedly, there was a scramble to fill empty seats inside the auditorium for the premiere of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center on July 10, 2023, in New York City.Allegedly, there was a scramble to fill empty seats inside the auditorium for the premiere of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center on July 10, 2023, in New York City.Getty Images for Paramount Pictu

Invites said, “Dress code: Evening Cocktail Attire (no jeans, no T-shirt, no logos/offensive clothing). Paramount reserves the right to turn anyone away for improper dress or other reasons. Comfortable shoes highly recommended.”

And, it seems, organizers weren’t messing around.

But it is unclear why they were apparently so insistent on proper attire.

It’s unusual for planners of industry occasions, especially in New York, to get uptight about the occasional pair of jeans.

Veteran “M:I” stars Cruise and Simon Pegg, series newbies including French actress Pom Klementieff and “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Greg Tarzan Davis, plus  Sherri Shepherd and Tony Danza (all properly dressed, we’re quite certain) turned out for the occasion.

We hear Cruise hit the road 30 minutes into the movie for Teterboro Airport.

A rep for Paramount declined to comment.
