From Justin Bieber to Sofia Richie Grainge, celebrities and socialites alike have recently been spotted in the world-famous French Riviera for good reason – it’s the crown jewel of the South of France, a place where luxury and sophistication meet the allure of the Mediterranean Sea.
As a traveler who enjoys exploring the most beautiful places on the planet, I can honestly say – the French Riviera is one of the most incredible destinations in the world. Truly a dream vacation if you ask me!
While there are a number of exquisite towns to visit in the Côte d’Azur, if you’re planning a trip to the South of France, a great place to stay is in Nice. Not only is it located just 15-minutes (by train) from Monaco, it’s a short drive away from other charming towns including Menton, Antibes, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Saint Tropez, Cannes, and Saint Paul de Vence.
To inspire you to set your sights on visiting Nice, France, today’s luxury travel guide is tailored to travelers seeking an upscale experience in this vibrant coastal city. Discover the allure of Nice, indulge in its opulent offerings, and immerse yourself in the chic European lifestyle that this destination is known for.
Why Book a Vacation in Nice, France?
With its stunning beaches, gorgeous tropical atmosphere, breathtaking European architecture, and rich cultural heritage, Nice, France is a dream destination for discerning travelers. Here are a few reasons why Nice should be at the top of your travel list this season:
Riviera Chic: Experience the glamorous lifestyle of the French Riviera, where fashion, art, and elegance converge seamlessly. From trendy boutiques to exquisite dining options, Nice offers a sophisticated atmosphere.
Stunning Beaches: Relax on the sun-drenched beaches along the Promenade des Anglais, where the sparkling Mediterranean Sea provides a picturesque backdrop. Enjoy sunbathing, water sports, or simply savoring the breathtaking coastal views.
Cultural Enrichment: Explore Nice’s rich history and culture by wandering through the charming streets of the Old Town (Vieux Nice). Admire the colorful facades, visit the bustling markets, and explore the bustling atmosphere of this historic quarter.
How To Easily Get To Nice, France:
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) serves as the main international gateway, offering direct flights from major cities. You can also reach Nice by train from other French cities or enjoy a scenic drive along the stunning coastal roads. And since it’s so close to Italy, it’s a great multi-city getaway to add to your vacation.
For example, for this trip, I was traveling from Florence, Italy (which is just a 5-hour drive from the French Riviera), so we decided to take the leisurely route by booking a private transfer via Blacklane, an easy-to-use global chauffeur service app that offers white-glove service. Not only was it more relaxing than dealing with airports and layovers, but it also makes for a delightful way to take in the sights in the privacy and comfort of a luxury vehicle.
Since we were traveling back to the Bay Area (in California) after our European getaway, we hopped on a quick 1-hr flight via SWISS Airlines from Nice to Zurich, Switzerland, and then took a connecting 11-hour flight to SFO.
As experience has taught me, if budget allows, I suggest upgrading to Business or First Class for the longer flight, as it will truly set the tone for a more relaxing vacation (and is well worth the added expense). Plus, you can easily stretch out and sleep in the spacious seats, while enjoying a series of gourmet meals and beverages, including complimentary Champagne.
It truly does make a world of difference. And, really isn’t that what the experience of luxury travel is all about?!

The Radisson Blu Hotel offers a seamless blend of upscale contemporary interiors, modern comfort, and breathtaking vistas, while still providing fair-priced accommodations.
