Take a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in late April 2023, starting with this pair…

On April 26, Lukas Gage and Chris Appleton took to Instagram to confirm rumors they recently tied the knot in Las Vegas. “We did it,” the celebrity hairstylist captioned a slideshow of photos and videos from their low-key nuptials, which his longtime pal and client Kim Kardashian officiated. (Shania Twain performed her hit single “You’re Still the One” after they said “I do.”) The “White Lotus” actor, meanwhile, quoted Nicki Minaj’s track “Only” while captioning his own slideshow of wedding day photos and videos, writing, “Ring finger where the rock is.” Chris and Lukas just went public with their romance in February. Less than two months later, People magazine reported that they’d quietly gotten engaged.

According to TMZ, Shannen Doherty filed to divorce her husband of more than a decade, Kurt Iswarienko, in Los Angeles on April 21. The “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed” actress — who indicated in her legal paperwork that she separated from the photographer in January — is asking for spousal support. “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option,” her rep told TMZ, which noted that sources close to the former couple — who did not sign a prenup before they tied the knot in October 2011 — have described the breakup as “very acrimonious.” Shannen’s rep also indicated that infidelity may have played a role in the split when she cryptically told TMZ that Kurt’s female agent is “intimately involved” in the divorce. Shannen is currently fighting stage 4 breast cancer.

The bride’s father, Lionel Richie, walked her down the aisle in front of other A-list wedding guests including her sister, Nicole Richie, and the former reality star’s husband, rocker Joel Madden, plus famous friends Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and the actress’s husband, Benji Madden. Sofia announced in April 2022 that she and Elliot had gotten engaged following a yearlong courtship.

On April 26, Glen Powell’s girlfriend of three years, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Gigi Paris, indicated on Instagram that they’d called it quits when she captioned a video of herself out and about in New York City, “Know your worth and onto the next.” She also unfollowed the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor and his “Anyone But You” co-star Sydney Sweeney — who’s reportedly engaged to her long-term partner, restaurateur Jonathan Davino — amid unfounded rumors the duo crossed a line on the set of the upcoming rom-com. In mid-April, the “Euphoria” actress raised eyebrows when she took to Instagram to share a slideshow of photos including several cozy-looking snaps with Glen, who’s yet to address his apparent split from Gigi. (There’s no indication that Sydney and Jonathan have called it quits.)

On April 21, Jimmie Allen took to Instagram to drop two major announcements: He and his wife of nearly three years, Alexis Gale, are expecting their third child together — and they’re also pulling the plug on their marriage. “After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex and I have made the decision to separate. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year. Our No. 1 priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another,” he wrote. The country music star and the registered nurse tied the knot in a private ceremony in June 2020 and married again in front of family and friends in May 2021.

On April 22, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens took to Instagram to announce that they recently tied the knot in a small courthouse ceremony. “I do. Officially Owens,” the Olympic gymnast captioned a slideshow of wedding photos. She later captioned a second slideshow of wedding pics, “I never knew a love so deep.” She gushed in the caption of yet another wedding photo, “I love you endlessly.” The professional football player, meanwhile, captioned his own slideshow of wedding snaps, “My person.” Sometime in the coming weeks, the athletes plan to say “I do” for the second time in a bigger ceremony for family and friends: “We will be having a wedding in a couple of weeks. We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the US — since our wedding will be a destination wedding,” Simone explained. She and Jonathan got engaged in early 2022 following a courtship of less than two years.

On April 23, The Sun broke the news that Louis Tomlinson and Sofie Nyvang are no longer an item. “Louis wasn’t ready to settle down again so soon after leaving a serious relationship. He is focusing on his craft and writing new music,” a source said, referencing the One Direction alum’s early 2023 split from Eleanor Calder. He and Sofie were first linked in mid-February — mere weeks after his most recent breakup from his long-term off-and-on love.

Broadway stars Matt Doyle and Max Clayton took to Instagram on April 26 to share a joint post announcing that they’re engaged. “While traveling through Schoonhoven in the Netherlands, we spotted a pair of rings, handmade by a local jeweler in town. Shockingly, they were both a perfect fit. After 8 years together, we think we like each other enough to make it official. From meeting at a Starbucks in New York to Schoonhoven. We are so incredibly lucky,” they captioned a slideshow of photos including a selfie showing off their new engagement rings. Matt — who had a recurring role on the original “Gossip Girl” — recently won a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of “Company” and currently stars as Seymour in the Off-Broadway revival of “Little Shop of Horrors.” Max, meanwhile, recently popped up on an episode of “Dear Edward” and understudied for Hugh Jackman in the Broadway revival of “The Music Man.”
