Instagram action
Jennifer Aniston found herself swept up in the aftermath of a controversial Instagram post by Jamie Foxx. Over the weekend, the actor shared a message that some viewed as antisemitic. “They killed this dude called Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you???!” he wrote, adding the hashtags #fakefriends and #fakelove. He later deleted the post, which several media outlets reported the “Friends” actress “liked.”
Jen promptly denied those reports: “This really makes me sick. I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.” There is speculation that the screenshots showing her “liking” the post were actually doctored. The actress has since disabled comments on her own Instagram.
Jamie also denied being antisemitic and said the post was aimed at one person who betrayed him. “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent,” he said in a followup post. “To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that’s what I meant with ‘they’ not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.”

Transit trouble fixed
All aboard the Bey-train! More than 50,000 fans waited out severe weather that pushed back the start time of Beyonce’s Washington, D.C., concert on Sunday, Aug. 6. To thank her fans, the pop star made sure they could all get home. As meteorologists were predicting a downpour, Beyonce’s team contacted the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and paid $100,000 to keep all Metro stations in the D.C. area open for an extra hour to transport her rain-soaked fans. A press release obtained by CNN said, “Due to inclement weather that may delay the start of tonight’s Renaissance World Tour at FedExField, Metro will extend the last train by an extra hour beyond the extended closing previously announced. The additional hour will be funded by the Tour to cover the $100,000 cost to run more trains, keep all 98 stations open for customers to exit, and other operational expenses.”
Estate details
After an unsuccessful challenge from her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, Riley Keough was officially named the sole trustee of her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s estate. People magazine said the “Daisy Jones & the Six” actress will also preside over the sub-trusts of her 14-year-old half-sisters Finley and Harper Lockwood, Lisa Marie’s daughters from her marriage to musician Michael Lockwood. In addition, Riley now owns Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee, which was gifted to Lisa Marie when the hitmaker died in 1977. Priscilla and Riley have been at odds over Lisa Marie’s trust since she passed in January 2023. Back in 2016, Lisa removed her mother, Priscilla, from her living trust. Priscilla, however, was challenging that, claiming she was never made aware of the excising until Lisa’s death. Priscilla hasn’t been completely removed from the equation. People magazine notes that the trust will allow Priscilla to remain as a special adviser and receive a monthly payment for her role. Deadline says she was also granted permission to be buried at Graceland next to Elvis and Lisa Marie. Elvis and Priscilla were divorced at the time of his passing.
Mea culpa
Ne-Yo is walking back his comments aimed at parents of transgender kids. Over the weekend the R&B singer talked to with VladTV’s Gloria Velez. There, he condemned parents who affirm their child’s gender identity, saying, “I feel like parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is.” One day later, the singer did an about-face. “After much reflection, I’d like to express my deepest apologies to anyone that I may have hurt with my comments on parenting and gender identity,” he said. “I’ve always been an advocate for love and inclusivity in the LGBTQI+ community, so I understand how my comments could’ve been interpreted as insensitive and offensive.” In his apology, he said, gender identity is “nuanced.” Ne-Yo now says he plans to “better educate” himself so that he can join the gender identity with more “empathy.”
