The Otter Trail along the Eastern Cape of South Africa is one of the oldest and most iconic hiking trails. It was established in 1968 and named after the Cape Clawless Otter. It takes hikers along the glorious coastline, over rivers, and through forests

It takes an average of 5 days to complete the 45 kilometres, and each evening is spent in rustic yet comfortable huts.

Being one of the most popular hiking trails in South Africa, bookings via the SANParks website need to be made well in advance.
