After days of maintaining his social media silence in the wake of a sexual assault lawsuit, Jimmie Allen is back on Instagram. And, he seem to be brushing off the salacious headlines associated with his personal life.

On Wednesday, May 17, the country singer used his Instagram Story to post the text, “We Gonna Be Alright” and “This Too Shall Pass.” He included a few emojis. Jimmie’s post was set to Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 hit, “Alright.” In a follow up post, he wrote “God Only Knows” and “He Knows!” while set to “God Only Knows” by Christian group For King & Country.
The “Best Shot” singer’s personal life has made headlines over the past few weeks. In late April, Jimmie’s wife, Alexis Gale, filed for divorce and indicated they are currently expecting a third child together, a boy. Then, on May 11 his former day-to-day manager filed a civil lawsuit in Tennessee federal court for sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress.

In the lawsuit and in a chat with Variety, the woman, who filed under the name Jane Doe, detailed several alleged assaults and groping incidents — including some she says took place in cars and hotel rooms, often when she and Jimmie were alone and traveling on work trips — that happened between 2020 and 2022, a time during which Jimmie was married.
In describing one night, Jane detailed waking up in a hotel room without clothes on and in pain with no recollection of the previous night. Jimmie was lying next to her and insisted she take a Plan B pill to prevent an accidental pregnancy, she alleged. It was then that the woman realized she’d lost her virginity.
The singer, she claimed, also videotaped some sexual encounters “to blackmail her to stay silent.” According to what she told Variety, “Jimmie raped her while choking her, sexually abused her at red lights when she drove him to and from business events and looked at porn on her work computer.” She told him “no” but was often coerced into sex with him, she said.

After details of the lawsuit emerged, the former “Dancing With The Stars” contestant admitted to cheating on his wife, but claimed the sex with the woman was all consensual.
“It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever,” he said in a statement. “I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years. During that time, she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely. Only after things ended between us, did she hire a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which leads me to question her motives. The simple fact is, her accusations are not only false, but also extremely damaging. I’ve worked incredibly hard to build my career, and I intend to mount a vigorous defense to her claims and take all other legal action necessary to protect my reputation.”
