Outta this world hearing

Tom Delonge feels vindicated. Back in 2015, the guitarist quit Blink-182 to investigate and research aliens. At the time, many thought the rocker had, well, fallen off his rocker, particularly given Blink’s popularity. On Wednesday, July 26, three former military officials told Congress that the government knows much more about UFOs than it is telling the public. In fact, one official said the government is in possession of “nonhuman” biological matter. He added that he is “absolutely” certain that the federal government is in possession of UFOs. After the hearing, Tom shared a message to his Instagram that read “Tom Was Right.” “The UFO Hearings today made history. I am so proud of the three witnesses today that blew the lid off the UFO secrecy that has been intact for decades,” Tom penned. The officials-turned-alien-whistleblowers are “heroes,” Tom said. The musician and his research company, To The Stars, even got mentioned in the hearing by David Fravor, a retired US Navy commander. “[To The Stars] was this organization that pressed the issue with leading industry experts and USG officials, worked with Leslie Keane, Ralph Blumenthal, and Helene Cooper to publish the articles in the New York Times in December 2017 admitting the USG was looking at UAPs and removed the stigma of the UFO topic, which led to us being here today,” the military commander told elected officials. “Those articles opened a door for the government and the public that cannot be closed. It has led to an interest from our elected officials who are not focused on ‘little green men’ but on figuring out what these craft are, where are they from, the technology they possess, and how do they operate.”

Song thoughts

Joe Rogan believes there’s a bit of hypocrisy regarding the controversy surrounding Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” music video and song. Some have labeled the song racist and claim the video has a pro-lynching message. The popular podcaster believes other genres of music have gotten away with “wild” messages for years, and no one seems to bat an eye. “I’m not saying [“Small Town”] is the greatest song the world has ever known, but the level of outrage coming from people that are upset about that song is so strange when there are hundreds of rap songs out there that are infinitely worse,” Joe said. The former “Fear Factor” host noted that some of those questionable rap song are still “enjoyable.” “There’s wild rock songs, there’s a lot of wild s***,” he added. Joe also felt the song doesn’t have any kind of racial element. “There’s nothing racial about the lyrics,” he said.

Dog dilemma

From the outside looking in, it seems that Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s split is amicable, but there’s a chance that a four-legged family member could complicated things and make them uglier. “They still have a few issues to figure out, like custody of their dog, Bubbles,” a source told Us Weekly. “But Sofia hopes they can move forward in a calm, fair fashion.” Amid rampant speculation about the state of their marriage, the superstar couple announced their split and divorce in early July. Friends said the two simply lived different lives and Joe’s sobriety was an issue for Sofia. “She would rather go out with friends and he would rather stay home, so they wouldn’t spend a lot of time together. They’ve been living separate lives for about a year now, so it was time to call things off,” a source told Us.

No love lost

Ariana Madix is still holding a grudge against her ex Tom Sandoval, and she’s even refusing to film “Vanderpump Rules” scenes with him. “She’s just not interested in talking” to Tom, TMZ reported, nothing the former couple hasn’t shared the screen once since Season 11 taping began in late June. After nine years together, Tom famously cheated on Ariana with co-star Rachel Leviss. The affair came to light earlier this year and two split. The new report said Tom and Ariana are communicating through other people, but they’ve not spoken since the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion was filmed. The two were in the same building for in mid-July, but they steered clear of each other.

‘Days’ of disgust

For nine weeks, an investigation was being conducted on the set of “Days of our Lives” amid misconduct allegations against longtime director/co-executive producer Albert Alarr. Lisa Rinna, who starred on the soap opera between 1992 and 1995, understands why, as she claims to have seen inappropriate behavior running rampant from show executives. “Well, this took a long time…the last time I went over there and did that week on Peacock I couldn’t believe the work environment,” Lisa said in a now-expired Instagram Story, which was reported by Entertainment Weekly. In 2021, Lisa reprised her role for Peacock’s Day of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. Of the set, Lisa said, “It was disgusting, I was shocked. I let many people know, Albert included, and they didn’t do a thing until now, it seems.” She added,  “I was afraid for the young actors who had to continue to work there. I went to the producer, I even spoke with Sony HR. I wonder where the union is in this and how was this left unchecked?” Deadline reported that the investigation into Albert has wrapped. “After a two-month investigation, the independent investigator produced a report with its findings. Based on those findings, Corday Productions has taken a series of actions designed to ensure a safe and respectful work environment,” a vague statement said.

Supportive owner

Ryan Reynolds is showing his support for one of the star players of Wrexham AFC following a devastating injury. While participating in a preseason match against Manchester United, Paul Mullin suffered a punctured lung while trying to score. Mullin, who was often featured in FX’s “Welcome To Wrexham,” needed an oxygen tank to leave the field. “Paul Mullin puts his last drop of blood into everything he does. The entire @Wrexham_AFC community is pulling for a speedy recovery,” Ryan Reynolds wrote in his tweet. The “Deadpool” actor co-owns the Wales-based team with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney. In a separate message, Ryan questioned whether the somewhat meaningless game was worth it. “Massive thanks to @manchesterunited for the incredible opportunity to play against a legendary Premier league side,” Ryan said. “But Jesus…. not worth losing Paul Mullin. F’n Brutal. @wrexham_afc.”
