Patriotism problem
Megyn Kelly believes the United States Women’s National Team “hates” America. Her proof? The majority of them didn’t sing the “Star Spangled Banner” prior to a recent World Cup game. “I really do believe their version of what a feminist is, what it means to be an empowered woman, at least as an American woman, means you need to hate your country. It means to go out on the national stage and embarrass yourself and your country by not singing the national anthem,” the conservative said on The Megyn Kelly Show. “For several of them, not even holding their hands over their hearts when the national anthem played, that was a bridge too far. They couldn’t be bothered to actually place their hand on their heart as the national anthem played, as they stood out there representing you and me and the country and our military and people who have given their lives for the country that they represent.” The former Fox News host pinned much of the blame on outspoken star Megan Rapinoe, who has represented the U.S. in four World Cups and two Olympic Games. Megan, commonly thought of as one of the best female soccer stars of all time, has often voiced support for LGBTQ rights, pay equity and the Black Lives Matter movement. “This [team behavior] is clearly, I think, as a result of her influence, and it’s disgusting,” Megyn said. “What an incredible opportunity to stand out there, representing the United States of America in World Cup soccer, and you can’t be shamed into at least feigning a touch of patriotism…We’re disgusting I guess when it comes to human rights. This is what people like Rapinoe have said in the past. So we can’t be saluted in any way.”
‘Serious’ health issue
Tori Kelly was rushed to the hospital after fainting during a dinner in downtown Los Angeles. TMZ reported that the singer’s heart started beating incredibly fast while out at dinner with friends last weekend. She then passed out “for a while.” Rather than calling for an ambulance (which would have likely taken the “Should’ve Been Us” singer to an area hospital,) friends put Tori in a car and drove her to Cedars-Sinai, one of the country’s top hospitals. Once there, the two-time Grammy winner was put in the intensive care unit, where doctors discovered clots in her legs and her lungs. There is concern that clots could be found around her heart, too. TMZ said Tori’s been “in and out of consciousness during her hospitalization” and the situation is “really serious.”
Book it
Britney Spears’ much-anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me,” was delayed by four months after legal teams for two of her exes got involved. The Sun reported that lawyers for Justin Timberlake and Collin Farrell threatened to sue if the “Toxic” singer didn’t remove certain passages in the book. “Lawyers demanded to see her book in advance and were adamant that some of the revelations were removed,” a source said. “There are still plenty of gobsmacking tales but Justin and Colin were conscious about what could be said about them. The legal process meant the publication was held up by four months as discussions went back and forth about what could be included. But that has finally now been settled and her autobiography is all ready to go.”
Ring thing
Kylie Richards claims that a paparazzi image of her without a wedding ring is not a sign that divorce is imminent. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said she was lifting weights just before a paparazzo snapped the photo. “[That] will bend the ring, ruin the ring, and it hurts. I take the ring off when I’m lifting weights,” she said. “That sparked a lot of stuff that wasn’t even true.” The missing ring is “not because Mauricio [Umansky] and I are having a hard time,” she said on Amazon Live on Monday, July 24. In early July, the reality TV couple announced they had separated after 27 years of marriage. “We all felt better after we [announced] because so many people were speculating and making up stories, and it was just getting out of control,” she said.
Scary incident
LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny, was rushed to a hospital on Monday, July 24, after suffering cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California. A family spokesman confirmed the news, claiming Bronny, one of the top basketball recruits in the country, was initially taken to the ICU. “Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU,” a statement said. “LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.” TMZ said the 18-year-old was unconscious and rushed by ambulance to the hospital. As news of the medical situation came out, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin tweeted, “Here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process.” Back in January, Damar collapsed on the field during an NFL game.
Déjà vu details
Raven-Symoné believes she has unexplained psychic abilities at times — which is similar to her character on “That’s So Raven.” During Sunday’s episode of “The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda,” the actress said, “I do have moments where I really will just stare and I will see a scene that is happening to me or that is going to happen to me in another dimension and I’m like, ‘Yo, this is weird.'” She added, “There will be a time when I’m walking and I’ll trip over nothing.” The Disney Channel alum said she’s can’t predict the future, but she does have moments of déjà vu. “The way we connect is through our trauma. Meditation just allowed my spirit guides to help me and even to this day that can happen,” she said. The “Cheetah Girls” star got into the topic while speaking with Keke Palmer. “I believe in psychics,” Raven said. “I believe actually humans have the ability in their brain to tap into energy fields that allow for truth to connect when you know how to translate it correctly.”
