Savannah Chrisley and country singer Nate Smith quietly called it quits due to the former reality TV star’s hectic schedule while raising her brother Grayson and niece Chloe.
On Tuesday’s episode of her “Unlocked” podcast, the 25-year-old revealed that, despite having “so much fun” with Smith, it was a case of “right person, terrible timing.”
“It was such a great experience. I mean, I have literally nothing to say about him other than having so much respect for him. It was just a tough situation for everyone involved,” she explained.
“I think it was really hard because there were ways that we connected, so great. But then also, it’s so hard for anyone to understand the level of trauma that’s going on in my life right now,” she continued, referencing parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s current prison stints.
Savannah said that Smith’s career has been “taking off” and, as he sets out on a stadium tour, “he needs someone who’s going to be able to go to those things and enjoy them with him.”
“There’s no way for me to do it without feeling guilty for leaving the kids,” Savannah explained. “So I have to figure out what a healthy balance is going to be of being able to have a personal life while having the kids and everything else involved.”
She went on to call the breakup “bittersweet,” admitting that while it’s the best thing for both of their lives, she fears he might be the one that got away.
The podcast host was awarded guardianship of her 16-year-old brother and 10-year-old niece in November 2022 after her parents were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for tax evasion and fraud.

Amid all the drama, Savannah was able to open her heart up to love, revealing she was “dating someone” in March.
Yet, even at the start of her relationship with Smith, Savannah admitted that dating was even harder now that she was a “package deal” with Grayson and Chloe.
“Now I see single moms, like, ‘How do you do it?’” she said on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast.
“And to them, it’s just a package deal. ‘You want to go to dinner? These two are coming along with.’”
Prior to her relationship with Smith, the “Chrisley Knows Best” alum was engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles. The pair split in 2020.
