Staggering financial issue

James Corden was bleeding CBS dry, a report claims. In a column for Los Angeles Magazine, CNN anchor Brian Stelter said “The Late Late Show” under James’ tenure was “wildly unprofitable.” Citing a “well-placed source,” Brian said the show was costing $60 million to $65 million a year to produce but was netting less than $45 million, leaving CBS over $20 million in the hole annually. “It was simply not sustainable,” one executive. “CBS could not afford him anymore.” James left the show last week after eight years. Brian, however, says James “may well have been heading to the chopping block whether he stayed or not” based on the financial disparity. “Even if Corden had wanted to stay in his seat, there was bound to be a late-night reckoning,” Brian wrote. “He would have faced a multimillion-dollar pay cut or painful staff reductions or both.”

Consequences of an agreement

Dee Snider was pulled from the San Francisco’s Pride Parade and Celebration next month after he voiced support for Paul Stanley’s critical comments about gender-affirming care for trans youth. On Sunday, April 30, the KISS guitarist criticized adults who educate children about gender identity and sexuality. “With many children who have no real sense of sexuality or sexual experiences caught up in the ‘fun’ of using pronouns and saying what they identify as, some adults mistakenly confuse teaching acceptance with normalizing and encouraging a situation that has been a struggle for those truly affected and have turned it into a sad and dangerous fad,” he wrote on social media. The following day, the Twisted Sister frontman backed Paul. “You know what? There was a time where I ‘felt pretty’ too,” he wrote. “Glad my parents didn’t jump to any rash conclusions! Well said, @PaulStanleyLive.” The team behind the the San Francisco Pride celebrations wasn’t pleased with Dee, whose song “We’re Not Gonna Take It” was set to be the unofficial “rallying cry” of the festivities. Dee was also slated to perform the 1984 classic. However, the sides parted ways following the social media activity.  “Dee has always been a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights,” a press release from Pride said. “However,  when we were notified about the tweet in which Dee expressed support for Kiss’s Paul Stanley’s transphobic statement, we were heartbroken and angry… We have mutually agreed to part ways, but appreciate Dee seeing this as a teachable moment and a reminder that even allies need to be educated to ensure that they are not casually promoting transphobia.”

Rumor debunked

Moments after reports emerged of his stunning divorce, Kevin Costner became the victim of false rumors on Twitter. A rumor floating around the web stated that the actor impregnated a woman working on the set of “Yellowstone,” which led to his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, filing for divorce. “I wonder now, if the drama surrounding Kevin Costner and Yellowstone ‘scheduling,’ was due to the rumor of him potentially getting someone on set pregnant?,” a tweet said. Multiple reputable outlets have reported that the rumor is complete nonsense. It’s “total BS,” a source told TMZ.

Under the knife tales

Priyanka Chopra fell into a deep depression after a botched nose job in the early aughts. She even thought her career in entertainment was over after going under the knife to remove a polyp in her nasal cavity. “I was as dark phase,” she said of that time in 2002. “It was so long ago that I don’t remember it as clearly.” Priyanka was a major star in India before the surgery and was set to star in several movies. “This thing happens and my face looks completely different and I went into a deep, deep depression,” said told Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show. The “Quantico” actress said “heightened teenage feelings” made her more emotional. “The rug was pulled out from under me. I was pulled from three movies,” she recalled. “It was very embarrassing and I thought it was over before it started.”

“Getting better”

One day after Jamie Foxx broke his silence for the first time since being hospitalized with a mystery “medical complication,” one of his closest pals said things are looking up for Oscar winner. “I think the dope thing is that he’s getting better in his situation, and everybody’s prayers, everybody’s love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt,” Kevin Hard said on the Impaulsive podcast, noting Jamie’s family has been “tight” with the information. “I don’t know the details or the exact details as to what’s going on, but to my knowledge, there’s a lot of progression and a world of better. My love, synergy goes out to him. He’s needed, he’s necessary and I know he knows that. I know that he feels that because there’s been an outcry and outpour of support and I can only hope that it continues.” On Wednesday, Jamie thanked fans for supporting him as he remains in the hospital. “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

Visitation issues

Lindsie Chrisley’s stepmom, Julie Chrisley, has been imprisoned for over three months, but the two women have only spoken once since then, and it was via email. To hear Lindsie tell it, the lack of communication is not her fault, indicating that she’s on the visitation list at Julie’s Kentucky prison, but that doesn’t mean she can visit anytime. Joined by her grandma, Nannie Faye, on her Southern Tea podcast, the women explained why seeing Julie is more difficult than seeing Todd Chrisley, who’s in a Florida prison. “Well, the reason you didn’t get to go see her is because — I was waiting in line myself — when she put me on the list she thought I’d be right away because, you know, I’m the next thing to her mother,” Nannie explained. “And so they said, ‘Well, mother-in-laws are not blood. So you have to wait three months.’ And I’ve only gotten to see her three times. So it’s almost two months before I got to see her because of the way they carry on their list. They take their own time.” She continued “It’s not like you can put somebody on there today and they get on there today. It might be three or four weeks. One of her best friends is going to get to go see her [for] the first time in almost four months and she just got OK’d about two weeks ago. So it’s a process. Everything in life has a process. So don’t believe anything you hear.”
