Hi Beth,

I wanted to reach out on behalf of a few of us in the Marketing department, though you might have also heard this message come through from Finance, maybe Graphics, I wouldn’t be shocked if Production and Communications team up for a statement…anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself. I’m sure you have already guessed what this email is regarding — the donuts. They were promised as part of the Women in E-Commerce Celebration held by the company last Wednesday, along with coffee, tea, and an inexplicable trivia game. It was relayed in the original Outlook calendar invite (attached here) and the conversation I overheard on your Teams call the other day (recorded on iPhone and attached here).

I might guess that there was a problem with delivery or payment, I think we all understand if such is the case. Regardless, it is pertinent that we might receive this asset ASAP, as many colleagues expressed that this was the only reason that they came into the office that day (screenshots of private texts attached). I know some people might have already touched base with you about this, but I wanted to ensure corporate synergy on this matter. If you’ll check on the Yammer log, this is a discussion already being had throughout the hierarchy.

Not to build discontent, but this lack of delivery on promises encourages a huge distrust of leadership and executive board members. I’d hate to see this affect employee retention rates, but I see the lack of sweet treats as a serious issue down the line. Already I have heard this mentioned as part of a few exit interviews, and I’d hate for it to be a trend among the restless staff. Should this case be the same with birthday cake celebrations, staff retreat lunches, or candy bowl refills, it wouldn’t shock me to see a general decline in the process (see attached document outlining this lingering effect, alternative linked as PDF here.)

If you refer to the employee handbook, you will note that respect is among the core values, stated again within the company mission statement. Frankly, not seeing any Dunkin’ boxes in the break room this last week demonstrates anything but respect. I might even call it disrespectful, if I had to give it a word. This oversight is reminiscent of other blasphemous issues this company has dealt with in the past, such as the implementation of sporks in the break room as well as the unexpected Q4 layoffs last year. Surely, there will be backlash for this kind of oversight.

Perhaps this speaks to the lacking role fills throughout departments. Is HR looking for a project manager yet? I believe yummy desserts might fall under the order of that position, or perhaps an office coordinator? Looking forward to hearing more about this movement, and I am happy to sit in on any forthcoming interviews to provide additional insight. I believe #NationalDunkinDay is coming down the line, so really looking to get the ball rolling in time to have those deliverables.

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this matter. My office door is always open, as is the office fridge (please send maintenance to inspect this ASAP.)

Also, you can find the latest analytics report on #NationalDunkinDay deals here.
