Lindsie Chrisley has opened up on the heartbreaking reaction her son Jackson had after realizing that his grandparents are in prison.

Taking to Instagram, the 33-year-old opened up about the biggest struggles she’s faced as a mom as she continues to co-parent Jackson, 11, with ex-husband Will Campbell.

Lindsie revealed that the imprisonment of her dad, Todd Chrisley, and his wife Julie has also had an effect on Jackson.

The Chrisleys were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for fraud and tax evasion in November 2022.

Todd began his 12-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in January, while Julie, 50, is spending the next seven years at Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna in Florida.

She will also serve 16 months on probation once she is released from prison.

“On our way to the beach, I saw Jackson notice the signs to Pensacola, Florida and began looking around without saying much to me,” said Lindsie, whom Todd shares with ex-wife Teresa Terry.

“I noticed he was watching my body language and facial expressions as he always does. He asked me if he could open the sunroof to ‘feel his papa’s air.’”

Lindsie admitted that she’s “forever trying to do what you think is best without knowing the outcome is incredibly difficult.”

The influencer said she doesn’t allow her son to visit his grandparents behind bars, adding that the “hard decisions parents face daily are not talked about enough.”

“Knowing Jackson misses his grandparents, even seeing that he has sent them text messages to phones they don’t have when I turn off his phone at night absolutely shatters me,” she shared.

“Knowing my decision regarding Jackson visiting my parents in the prison environment is based on what the court decides regarding their appeal is causing more heartache. I trust God has a plan.”⁣

While Lindsie hasn’t been as outspoken about her dad’s prison stint as her siblings, she did reveal in April that Todd has made “great friends” behind bars.
