We’re taking a look back at all the celeb couples who got engaged in 2023 — or whose engagements came to light this year…

After just a few months of dating, “Sister Wives” star Christine Brown and David Woolley are planning to marry! Christine — who ended her plural marriage to Kody Brown in late 2021 after nearly 26 years together — confirmed to People magazine that she and David got engaged in Utah in early April. “David treats me like a queen and tells me I’m beautiful everyday,” she told People. “I’ve never been in love like this before and the world seems like a brighter place with him in it. I’m so excited for the wonderful adventure we are going to embark on for the rest of our lives.” Christine took her romance with the man she’s called “an adorable grandpa” public on Valentine’s Day 2023.

After more than a year of dating, “Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Kattan proposed to journalist-turned-screenwriter and actress Maria Libri during a Wilco concert (they’re her favorite band!) in Chicago on March 25, he shared in a series of photos on Instagram. “Maria and I fully accept each other for who we are,” Chris told People magazine a few weeks later. “It’s not just the things we have in common, we also embrace our quirks and differences — and we don’t love each other in spite of them, we love each other because of them. When I got to see her and spend time together a few months after we first met, and I realized our creative brains were also totally in sync (after the first sketch we did together), that’s when I knew I was in trouble! Thankfully for me she felt the same way.”

Maria — who met Chris when she interviewed him in Springfield, Illinois, while he was in town for a comedy tour stop — is equally smitten. “It’s funny how life works sometimes and gives you gifts when you’re not looking for them,” she told People. “When we met, we were immediately comfortable with one another. Call it weird, mystical or magical, it’s like we’d known each other in a past life. After spending that first day together (though I didn’t know how), I just somehow knew that my life would never be the same after meeting Chris.”

After nearly two years of dating, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi are engaged, they appeared to announce on Instagram on April 11. The news emerged after the “Stranger Things” actress, 19, posted a photo of herself wearing a diamond ring on her left hand as Jake, 20, hugged her from behind and captioned it with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” writing, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.” Jake — a model who’s the son of rock star Jon Bon Jovi and his wife — posted a photo from another angle with the caption “Forever.”

The “Enola Holmes” star’s skincare brand, Florence by Mills, appeared to confirm the news, with its official account commenting, “the perfect couple we are SO happy for you two!” on Millie’s ring pic post.

That imploded fast!

In an interview he gave to one of his newspapers, the New York Post — which was published on March 20, a 92-year-old Rupert Murdoch confirmed that he’d proposed on St. Patrick’s Day (because “I’m one-fourth Irish,” he explained) to his girlfriend of a few months, 66-year-old former dental hygienist Ann Lesley Smith, with an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire he selected himself. “I was very nervous. I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy,” he said.

His bride-to-be — a widow whose late husband was Chester Smith, a country singer, radio and TV exec — told the newspaper she and Rupert met in September 2022, which was a month after his divorce from fourth wife Jerry Hall was finalized. “For us both it’s a gift from God … I’m a widow 14 years. Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman. Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language. We share the same beliefs,” she said. “In perspective, it’s not my first rodeo. Getting near 70 means being in the last half. I waited for the right time. Friends are happy for me.”

But just two weeks later, the pair called off their engagement. Though a rep for the media mogul had no comment, a source close to him told Vanity Fair, which was the first outlet to reports the breakup news on April 4, that Rupert had become increasingly uncomfortable with Ann’s outspoken evangelical views. Meanwhile, a friend close to the former couple told DailyMail.com that the pair had come to a mutual decision to part ways. “She just could not cope with being with being in the public eye,” claimed that source. “They sat down and talked yesterday and agreed it was better for them to part. He accepts that he will always be in the public eye and there is nothing he can or would do to change that.” The DailyMail.com source insisted that Rupert remained fond of Ann, saying he “admires her, respects her and thinks she is an amazing woman. He loves the fact she is so calm and so strong … and she shares his religious convictions.”

Rupert previously shared that he and Ann met during an event at his vineyard, Moraga Bel Air in Los Angeles. “She and her husband also owned a vineyard and had been in the wine business. Last year when there [were] 200 people at my vineyard, I met her and we talked a bit. Two weeks later I called her.”

She is being coy about details, but she is beaming. … Everyone is happy for her. Justin is a great guy. He adores her. It’s just amazing to see them together,” a source said. A second source told People that the “Blue Crush” actress “can’t wait” to marry the “Galaxy Quest” actor: “They are very cute together. Kate has this amazing energy around Justin,” the insider added. Justin and Kate have been dating since at least late 2021.

Hailie’s birthday is on Christmas Day so Evan was with her family celebrating — and that’s when he decided to shoot his shot with the rapper. “I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,'” Evan recalled to Hailie during the podcast. “So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and I made it happen.”
