Flavor Variations

This really is delicious with simply the pineapple and milk, but it’s fun to add more flavors!

  • For an extra creamy dessert, make dole whip ice cream!
    • Use 1 cup of fruit and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream. (Dairy free if needed.)
  • The chile mango version tastes best with half ice cream and half fruit mix.
  • We tried a boozy version on our amazing Disney cruise, pour in some rum or tequila for the adults!
  • Other types of fruit will work as well, just make sure it’s frozen. Try:
    • rasperberries
    • strawberries
    • oranges – or switch out some of the milk for orange juice
  • If you choose to use a sweetener, sugar works best for the texture.
  • Add a pinch of salt to bring out the flavors even more.
  • Make it float by serving it in a cup with pineapple juice or soda.

Preparation Tips

  • This Disney dole whip recipe works best using frozen fruit, not fresh.
    • You can freeze fresh fruit to use at a later date.
  • By pulsing the frozen fruit first, you are getting it into small pieces so that it blends smoother and faster.
  • Do not blend on high or the heat will melt the mixture.
  • Use the tamper tool to help push the fruit into the blades.
  • For the classic appearance of the Disney pineapple dole whip swirl you can chill it for 30 minutes to firm it up a bit, then pipe it into your serving dish using a pastry bag.
