Pete Davison has checked into rehab for borderline personality disorder and PTSD — a move that comes just a few weeks after being criminally charged in a car crash.

“Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it,” a source told Page Six on Wednesday, June 28. “He has a lot of people in his corner who love him and support him, and are proud of him.”

The source insisted that the “Saturday Night Live” funnyman is “taking a well deserved break so he can focus on himself and learn to better deal with his PTSD issues.”

The comedian is reportedly being treated at the same Pennsylvania facility where pal John Mulaney sought help for addiction issues.

“Pete regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune ups’ and to take a mental break, so that’s what’s happening,” a close pal said.

Pete’s girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, is said to be standing by her man as he works on his issues.

The “Bupkis” star’s life has taken several twists and turns over the past 12 months. Back in August 2022, he and Kim Kardashian broke up after nine months together. He then moved on with Chase.

A few months later, in March 2023, Pete and Chase were involved in a car accident in Los Angeles wherein the 29-year-old allegedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a house. The house has since been razed. In June, he was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. Police do not believed drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Pete, who’s firefighter father died in the 9/11 terror attacks, also caught flak from PETA over the past few weeks for purchasing a dog at a pet store, as opposed to adopting a pooch from a shelter. The dog was for Pete’s mother, who recently lost her previous pooch.

On June 5, “The King of Staten Island” actor left a visceral voicemail for PETA’s Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations. In that message, obtained by TMZ, Pete said he’s “severely allergic” to dogs so he has to get a cavapoo, a nearly hypoallergenic breed that doesn’t shed. During the foul-mouthed message, Pete accused the organization of “creating news stories” because it’s “boring” and “tired.”

Pete — who’s been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and borderline personality disorder —has been to rehab several twice before, once in 2017 and again in 2019. He’s been fairly open about this mental health, once telling radio host Charlemagne Tha God that he’s “always depressed, all the time.”

In speaking to Glenn Close for Variety, Pete said, “I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it. Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better.”
