Remains found?

Human remains have been found in the mountainous area where Julian Sands — a British actor known for roles in “Leaving Las Vegas,” “Dexter,” and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” — was last seen. Julian went hiking in the Mt. Baldy area of Southern California during a snow storm on Jan. 13, but he never returned to his car and didn’t return from the hike. Severe weather had hampered the search efforts at the time of his disappearance — his snow-covered car was found in California’s San Gabriel Mountains a few days after his last contact. According to Entertainment Tonight, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported that the remains were found over the weekend by hikers at Mt. Baldy. It has not been confirmed that the remains are those of the “A Room With a View” star.

Health update

Another one of Jamie Foxx’s co-stars maintains that he is doing well — this despite the fact that Jamie has not been seen or heard from publicly since suffering an undisclosed medical situation in April. “I’ve talked to people very close to Foxx, and Foxx is doing well,” said Porscha Coleman, who starred alongside Jamie in Netflix’s “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!” “I hate that the media outlets kept running with the narrative of what was going on without having the proper information.” Over the past few months, several of Jamie’s friends and co-stars have painted a flowery picture of his condition, but little information has been given. Similarly, Jamie and his family have continued to be very tightlipped about his health, but none of that surprises Porscha. “One thing about Jamie is that he’s always valued his privacy. If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Even when it came to dating, Jamie’s always been private, so it never surprised me. Once I heard the news, of course, I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it. He’s resting, he’s well. And he’s going to be back. Trust and believe. He’s fine.”

Getting messier

Kevin Costner might not have been blindsided by his divorce, as initially reported. The U.S. Sun reported on June 25 that Kevin planned to file for divorce from Christine Baumgartner, his wife of 18 years, but she beat him to the punch. Kevin’s “lawyer was getting the paperwork drawn up” when Christine “sneak attack[ed] him and serve[d] him with her own set of divorce papers.” The source added, “Kevin was so shocked. Christine has since made him look terrible and has continued to do so.” The “Yellowstone” actor’s divorce has gotten messy: Christine has allegedly refused to leave their marital home despite a prenuptial agreement stating that she must vacate the residence. Kevin — whom sources previously said was “blindsided” by the divorce — also accused his estranged wife of spending nearly $100,000 on his credit card after she filed to legally end the marriage.

Socially speaking

Selena Gomez’s social media moves are making waves: The singer-actress reportedly unfollowed Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa on Instagram recently. It’s unclear what sparked her decision to remove the foursome, who are all connected: Gigi and Zayn dated off and on for years and share a child; Gigi and Bella are sisters; and Gigi and Bella’s younger brother, Anwar Hadid, dated Dua for several years. Incidentally, Selena and Zayn were recently linked, but earlier this month, she insisted she was single.

Breaking his silence

Don Lemon is finally opening up about his CNN axing. In his first official interview since being fired in the spring, the veteran journalist told Rudy Williams of ABC24, “I have a responsibility not only as a journalist, but as an American, to tell the truth, and to abide by the promises of the Constitution, because the Constitution says a more perfect union. Not a perfect union.” Amid controversy over previous on-air comments, Don was unceremoniously terminated in April — just hours after Fox News showed Tucker Carlson the door. Don’s exit was rather acrimonious, as he said he was let go without any notice whatsoever. “I’m not a perfect person. No one is,” he said in the new interview. “In order to fulfill the promise of the Constitution, we have to stand up for what is right. We have to stand up for the truth.” Don, who was often a target of former president Donald Trump, maintains that he doesn’t believe in “platforming liars and bigots and insurrectionists and election deniers, and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth, people who are fighting for what’s right, people who are abiding by the Constitution.” He added, “That is what has gotten me to this point, and that is what is going to carry me forward. To know that I am doing the right thing, that I am standing up and abiding by the Constitution, which my profession demands that I do because we are listed in the First Amendment of the Constitution, which is freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press.” While there have been rumors that Don could return to CNN, his future is undecided. “I’m not going to force anything. I’m not going to let other people’s timeline influence me. I don’t have to be in a rush. I think sometimes people rush to make decisions and they end up making the wrong decisions,” he said. “I’m not worried at all. People are concerned about me, and are more worried about me than I am about myself. I’m fine.”

Marriage about face

My, how things have changed. Back in 2012, Jon Hamm swore off marriage, telling Playboy it didn’t “mean anything” to him. The resurfaced interview comes in the wake of the “Mad Men” actor’s weekend wedding to actress Anna Osceola. He told the magazine he never had “a particularly defined example of marriage,” as his parents split when he was 2 years old and never remarried. “I don’t mean to say that it shouldn’t mean things to other people,” he said. “It’s just my experience. I don’t have that paragon of married life to look at and think, ‘Oh yeah, that’s it! That’s what I want!'” At the time of the chat, the Emmy winner was dating longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt. The duo split in 2015, which is the same year Jon met Anna on the set of the “Mad Men” finale.

Same song, different mentality

For the first time in 11 years (and just weeks before releasing her re-recorded “Speak Now” album), Taylor Swift performed “Dear John.” But prior to doing so, she urged her fans not to retaliate against John Mayer, the perceived subject of the song. “I was hoping to ask you that as we lead up to this album coming out, I would love for that kindness and gentleness to extend into our internet activities,” she told the Minneapolis, Minnesota, crowd during her Eras Tour. “I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19. I’m not putting this album out so that you can go and should feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.” John and Taylor dated for a few months in 2009. Although she’s never actually confirmed the song is about the “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer, he has said it is. The song deals with a failed romance with an older man, and the lyrics tell of that man’s “dark twisted games.” Back in 2011, John spoke to Rolling Stone about the tune, calling it “cheap songwriting.” “It made me feel terrible. Because I didn’t deserve it,” he said. “I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.”
