On June 17, Dean McDermott took to Instagram to announce that he and Tori Spelling were throwing in the towel following nearly two decades of marriage: “It’s with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and five amazing children … [we] have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” he wrote in part.
Just a few hours later, however, the former “Chopped Canada” host deleted the breakup announcement, prompting an Us Weekly source to insist that he and Tori — who’ve weathered a number of rough patches over the years including a 2013 cheating scandal — “have been better than ever” and “are not getting a divorce.” Said the source, “They’ve had their ups and downs like any couple, but [they] have continued working on their marriage through couple’s counseling. They love each other and are not going to split.” The insider went on to say that friends believe Dean made the breakup announcement because he and Tori got into “a big blowout fight” the previous evening. “He obviously regretted it, so he deleted the post,” the source said.
A People magazine source, meanwhile, said that Dean’s breakup announcement came “out of the blue” because he and the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum “really did seem to be in a good place in recent months.” Explained the insider, “If this had happened a year ago, it would’ve been expected because things were terrible between them. Sure, they still had their disagreements and didn’t always see eye to eye, but the past six months things had felt good between them.” Said a second People source, “They were definitely trying in the last few months [to make their marriage work], and things felt way less toxic. They also made an effort to make holidays and milestones special and were much more in tune with each other. It’s been a night-and-day difference from the last couple years.”
Tori has yet to publicly address the status of her relationship with Dean, indicating they may not be calling it quits just yet…

On June 20, TMZ broke the news that Avril Lavigne and Tyga quietly called it quits sometime “a couple weeks” earlier. According to the webloid, the breakup was “a mutual decision” after their romance of just a few months “ran its course.” TMZ reports “there are no hard feelings” between the pop star and the rapper, who were first romantically linked in early March in the wake of her split from Mod Sun.
“Tyga and Avril were friends before they started dating so although they’ve decided to break up, they’ve remained on good terms,” echoed an Us Weekly source, noting that the duo “have a mutual respect for one another” and ultimately “decided they’re better as friends than romantic partners.” Added the Us Weekly insider of the former couple, “There’s no hard feelings and they plan on continuing their friendship. At this point, it’s just platonic.”

In a V Magazine feature that hit the Internet on June 15 — three months after “Entertainment Tonight” reported that Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin had quietly gotten engaged — the former child star and the model finally confirmed they’re set to wed. They actually got engaged back in September 2022, seven months after the actor first picked out an engagement ring for the former Victoria’s Secret Angel. “I knew since we started dating that I want to marry him,” said the bride-to-be of her beau of more than five years. The couple also revealed that they’re planning to tie the knot in Barbara’s native Hungary.

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Monique Samuels filed to divorce her husband of more than a decade, Chris Samuels, in Maryland on June 20. According to People magazine, she previously filed a complaint for absolute divorce on April 14 and an amended complaint for absolute divorce on June 15. The duo separated in October 2022 after chronicling their marital woes on the first season of OWN’s “Love & Marriage: DC.”
