Once the snow is gone, a whole new landscape of two-wheeled summer fun opens in Idaho. Whether it’s a beautiful ride along the Route of the Hiawatha, ripping some epic downhill, or something in between, you’ll find it in Idaho. In fact, eleven Idaho ski areas offer countless miles of summertime mountain biking with nine offering loads of lift-served singletrack for all skill levels. Many even have new trails opening this year, including five miles of new trail at Tamarack, expanding their trail network to nearly 33 miles. And Silver Mountain is hosting the North American Enduro Cup, June 16-18, showcasing some of the best pro riders in the country.
All that said, mountain biking is just the beginning of a “Ski Idaho Summer.” At the end of the day, there are plenty of places to stay and play after the riding is done. Depending on your destination, you can enjoy on-site lodging, bars and restaurants. And summer activities are in no short supply throughout the season with zipline tours, live music, beer and wine festivals, hiking, and even whitewater rafting. Plus, many of Idaho’s mountains are within driving distance of surrounding cities in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming and Utah for even more adventure.
